Yo! I went for ushering duty yesterday for the School of BA Graduation Ceremony 2008.
The morning session was for BS graduands while the afternoon 4pm was for all the other graduands.

Ushering could be fun yet at the same time it could be tiring. Gotta stand all day long and my legs are breaking. And towards the late afternoon, I was hungry but we couldn't eat, coz the food was meant for the guests.

Haha, my duty was the same as DC which was to stand outside the main entrance of the auditorium to greet and distribute a booklet to each family. The 1st level was filled up rather fast. After getting the signal, we have to stop all the other guests from entering the 1st level of the auditorium and direct them to the 2nd level.

After the 1st level was filled, I was asked to go to the 2nd level to help out. Don't know what to do there, I distributed the books again outside the lift. After which like everyone had arrived, when down to look for DC.

There were also principals of 2 secondary schools who were VIP yesterday. Heard from the staffs, it was because their students were a gold medalist.
Waaa, hope 3 years later, my principal would also attend my graduation! Well, I know its fat hope for me.

Haix, I so wished that xinyi and liling could attend my graduation ceremony 3 years later. But if it doesn't clash with uni holidays, then they wouldn't be able to attend my graduation.

Oh well, think I'm thinking to far...

Ah ya, overall, ushering was fun and I got to wear the NP blazer! And I got to peeped at part of the ceremony coz we are not supposed to watch the ceremony.

Alright! This are just some of the photos! There are more. Log on to my facebook account to take a look...

Haix, I just found out that actually its so difficult to find a plain white long sleeved blouse and a plain black knee-length skirt.

Its more of the skirt problem. Its either the XS is too big or the XS is too tight, S is too big. Walked along Wisma Atria and Ngee Ann City and I finally found the plain black knee-length skirt.
And for the blouse, they don't have size S in Ngee Ann City. So the sales person is very kind to help me call to the Westmall branch to see if they have size S for that blouse. Actually for the skirt, they only have white, so the person sort of called the Wisma Atria branch and they have the black one, so they delivered it to Ngee Ann City. So kind of the sales person. Their service is also damn good!

After settling for the blouse and the skirt, gotta look for the black covered dress shoe. That's rather easy!

Tomorrow will be a long day!

Gotta get home and start mugging already! 1st paper is this sat! Everything counts towards my GPA! I can't close the doors to Uni myself!
I will do my best for it!

Btw, Miss Yandao,
I've thought of adding some rhythms to our lyrics? Is it called lyrics? haha, I'm not sure what is it called so I'll just name it as lyrics. But I'm sure you know what I'm referring to.

So it will go like this.
We are the PESTS!
We are the SHADOWS!!
We are the BEST...
coz...
WE ARE THE INDEFEATABLES!!!!

I can't demo the rhythm here, so the next time I see you will demo to you.

Then i still got thought of the steps that will go with this.
Was thinking of doing this on the spot for the teachers for teacher's day.
I'm sure this would really impress them!
Trust me...hahaha

Dearest xinyi,
Thanks for all that you have given me in the past 4 yrs.
Be it laughter, joy, happiness, or our craziness and OUR VERY OWN WAY OF SAYING HI!!

Still remembering our way of saying HI originated from Hillgrove.
But as to how we started it, I'm really not very sure about it.
Still remember in secondary sch, we used to run around everywhere we go, esp to recess!
That's the time where I really enjoyed myself and it was when I realised how important you are to me.
Sometimes I wonder how would I past my day, if you didn't come to sch.
I still remember there was a time where u are sick and you went home after recess and I emo-ed the rest of the day coz there's no one there to laugh with me.

Seeing you yesterday is also my GREAT GREAT BONUS.It is also my incentive lah!
I can't wait for teacher's day to arrive so we can go back to HILLGROVE together and see our lovable and friendly teachers who made us feel like VIP on fri!

But the sad thing is, we didn't manage to take at least one proper pic of us!
Nevermind, chances will come again.
But well, it would be like months later to teacher's day before we can get to meet up.
By then, we must really really take loads of photos.

Anyway, Big Thank You to all that you have given me. And I know there would be more to come.......

Here awaiting,
Janice

What had happened yesterday had proven that I was wrong.

I thought that actually Hillgrove does not mean much to me. Its just a place where I completed my secondary education and graduated.

But yesterday was definitely a meaningful one as I had realised that I was wrong all this while.
Went back to Hillgrove Secondary School yesterday to collect my cert and testimonial with Xinyi.
When in the office waiting to collect our yr book, after having paid the money, saw Ms Chew walking into the office and said HI to her. She looked really tired. Then she looked at my results and she went inside.

After that, me and Xinyi decided to go up to our former classroom to take a look of how has it changed. Then saw Ms David at the corridor near the library. We starting calling for her on the way walking towards the library. It was only when we were standing beside her and calling Ms David that she turned around and said 'What?' Haha, she was rather shocked to see us. Then she told us to say hi to all the others teachers, since they were in a meeting and will be out soon.

Think its coz we went back on this rather normal school day that gave the teachers a surprise.
Shan't talk much about this coz its just some casual chat with the teachers & principal & vice principal.

Then we went up to the second level.
Ah ha, then Mr Ho brought us into the staffroom.
Great! Aircon! Its really hot outside.
But didn't see Mdm Chan in school.

But I heard some rumors.
I was rather sad after hearing that.
Just found out that it was untrue from my friend.

Hmm, guess it wasn't the right day to go back yesterday, coz I didn't see Mdm Chan.
After so many months, I thought that I could really forget her, but I realised that I can't.
When I didn't see her yesterday, I was sad.
I still regard her as my favourite teacher, and even my role model.

Well, yesterday's trip back to Hillgrove really brought a lot of memories back!
It was then that I realised that Hillgrove was not just a place that I studied and graduated.
It was also a place where I left my footprints and my memories behind that could never be erased!
No matter where am I, my memories in Hillgrove stays!
It was also a place where captured my joy, my laughter and even my tears!
It was also where I studied hard and played hard and graduated together with my peers.
It was also where I used to bother my teachers, be it school work or non-work related stuff.

Actually, all my memories stays! Be it with teachers, friends, peers or even the building!
I finally realised how much I really missed my principals, teachers and friends.
And how much I really wished that I could go back and help out during my Poly semestral break for 7 weeks.

Principals, teachers and friends of Hillgrove,
Thanks for all the memories you have given me!
I will always remember you!

Okay, my entry on my unsuccessful application to BA envoys seemed to brought too many comments

Think its time I clarify myself about that. Actually I'm not really sad, I just take it as a learning experience. Afterall, its my very 1st time going for an interview and will look nervous and you guys may think that I'm not confident.

Ya, so that's about it. Not bothered about it actually.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Went to school this morning and saw Deborah (Hillgrove 4E1'07) in the bus and we sat together. Actually it was half way through the journey then we spotted each other. I was standing and she was sitting at the very last row. Then I sort of bended to the front and I saw her.

Haha, she said that I looked familiar to her. Then she thought that her this friend doesn't have curl hair. lol.

So after spotting her, I went over and sit with her. Chatted along the way and mentioned about Ambassadors.

Both of us got into the final round of the Ambassadors interview. My interview was at 4.30 but I went there at 3.30.

Haha, my lesson was supposed to end at 4 but it ended early. So i went there early coz got nothing to do. Then the person who interviewed me the previous round was sitting outside with another ambassador. Then she somehow remembered me and I was so surprised.

Then after a while, I went in for the officer's interview.

Haha, guess that's it! Nothing much today.

My heart is shattered!

Because I didn't get into BA Envoys

How can they do that to me?

Oh well, they definitely have the right to do so.

Haix, I'm such a failure,

I have never succeeded in anything i do before

I don't wanna go for the Ambassador's interview on Mon already.

Coz can't even get into Envoys already, how is it possible that I can get into Ambassadors which is so much tougher.

I wanna cry! :'(

Arrgh! Just leave me alone! and don't bother about me!

Yesterday stayed back with Christine, Ding Chun and Joshua to do the DSS PBL part 2.

I really felt so lousy about myself being a leader of the group yet not knowing what was going on about the project. Now I think that Joshua really thinks too highly of me by putting me down as the leader and I think that the 3 of them were much more qualified than me to be the group leader. I think I should be the recorder recording the team's progress.

Then at 3.10pm went up to level 7 for the BA envoys interview. After filling up the form and keying them into the excel sheet, had to queue up for my turn but than someone told me to go down level 4 together with 2 other guys for the interview.

The 2 guys went in for the interview before me and I was the last. My interview wasn't so much of a scenario Qn. It was more about myself, how I got to know BA envoys and what inspired me to join and stuff like this.

They said that they would send me confirmation mail by end of this week. I wonder what was the percentage that I would get into BA envoys. At the same time, I also have the NP Ambassador interview going on. And my was at 1pm on next Mon. Which means if the POA lecturer did not release us early, I would have to skip lecture and go for the interview coz its quite far between the LT and the Library.

After Envoys interview, went back to do the DSS PBL. At that time I was really lost and have no idea what they are doing. But I somehow know that they are stucked at Qn 3 about the DB function. Not long after, Christine went for her interview and they stopped doing.

I really have to buck up for the sake of my group and myself. Jiayous!

Okay, that's all for today. I've got to go do my tutorials.
